Fudco Gondal Chilli Powder is a bright red ground chilli in the style Gujarati kitchens reach for every day, named on the pack in Gujarati as well as English. How to use it
Add half a teaspoon to a pan of hot oil with cumin seeds and garlic, stir for a few seconds so it darkens without burning, then add onions or tomatoes. Increase the amount slowly until the curry reaches the heat you like. It also works in marinades for paneer or chicken, in masala for stuffed vegetables, and sprinkled over chaat, fried potatoes or a bowl of plain yoghurt. Keep the pack sealed after use so the colour holds.
