Del Monte Prunes In Juice are whole plums, dried and then packed in clarified grape juice in Greece, with nothing else in the ingredient list. The prunes still have their stones, which keeps them plump and whole, and they are soft, dark and sweet with a rich, jammy flavour. Each 410g can holds 240g of fruit once drained. How to use it
Serve the prunes warm or chilled with porridge, Greek yoghurt or custard at breakfast, or spoon them over rice pudding. Stone and chop them for cakes, flapjacks and sticky toffee puddings, or simmer them into a tagine or a lamb stew for a sweet, deep note. The juice can be poured over the fruit or used to soak sponge. Once opened, move any leftovers into a covered bowl in the fridge and use them within 3 to 4 days.
