Daily Delight Grated Coconut is fresh coconut, grated and frozen in Kerala so it keeps its moist texture and sweet, milky flavour. It saves cracking and scraping a whole coconut, and the 400g bag is ready to cook whenever a recipe calls for fresh coconut. How to use it
Take out the amount you need and place it in a bowl in the fridge overnight to thaw. Grind it with roasted chana dal, green chilli and salt for coconut chutney, toss it through cabbage or beans thoran, layer it with rice flour for puttu, or pound it with chilli, onion and lime for pol sambol. It also thickens curries and sweetens payasam and laddoos. Reseal the bag and return it to the freezer.
