Chandra Fafda is a crisp, spiced take on the Gujarati fafda: strips of wheat flour, gram flour and semolina dough seasoned with chilli powder, carom seed (ajwain), sesame seeds and turmeric, then fried until they snap. Ajwain gives the strips their thyme-like warmth and the chilli a gentle heat, so they are good on their own as well as with chutney. Find more savoury snacks in our Namkeen range.
How to use it
Serve fafda the Gujarati way with jalebi and a cup of chai on a Sunday morning, or with a bowl of kadhi style besan chutney and fried green chillies. They are also good straight from the bag with tea, or broken over a chaat for crunch. Close the bag tightly after opening to keep the strips crisp.
