Canderel Granular Sweetener is a low calorie table-top sweetener that measures like sugar by the spoon: one teaspoon of Canderel, 0.5g and 2 calories, is as sweet as a 4g teaspoon of sugar at 16 calories. It is made with aspartame and acesulfame-K on a maltodextrin base, in a small glass jar with a sprinkle cap. How to use it
Swap it spoon for spoon in drinks, on porridge, cornflakes or sliced fruit. When a recipe gives sugar by volume, use the same number of tablespoons of Canderel; when it gives sugar by weight, divide by eight, so 80g of sugar becomes 10g of Canderel. That works well for custards, lassi, chai and fruit desserts where sugar is there for sweetness. Close the cap after use and keep the jar somewhere cool and dry.
