Brooke Bond Red Label is one of India's most familiar black teas, made by Hindustan Unilever and packed in a 500g carton. The leaf is a fine granular Indian tea that brews fast and strong, giving a deep colour and full body that stands up to plenty of milk and sugar. How to use it
The pack advises preparing it with boiling milk or water. For a typical Indian chai, simmer one heaped teaspoon per cup in a mix of water and milk for two to three minutes, add sugar to taste, then strain. Add crushed ginger, cardamom or a pinch of chai masala for masala chai. For a plain cup, brew with freshly boiled water and add milk afterwards.
