Baba's Chilli Powder 250g

Baba's Chilli Powder is pure ground dry chilli and nothing else, from Baba's of Selangor, Malaysia, a familiar name in Malaysian and Singaporean kitchens. It is a deep red powder with real heat and a fruity, roasted chilli flavour, used to build the colour and fire of curries, sambals and stir fries. How to use it

Fry a spoonful in hot oil with onions, garlic and ginger at the start of a curry so the chilli cooks through and turns the oil red, then add the rest of the spices and the main ingredient. Mix it with a little water into a paste for sambal, chilli prawns or a Malaysian fish curry, or stir it into marinades for chicken and meat before grilling. Start with a small amount, as pure chilli is hot, and the pack says to cook it before eating.
