Amul Pure Ghee is the everyday cooking ghee, and the 1 litre tin is for houses that cook with it every week of the year. It is granular, strongly aromatic and made from cow's milk fat, and Amul is the ghee most Indian kitchens measure the others against. If you temper dal most nights, or make halwa and ladoo at home, the tin works out better than a small jar.
How to use it
A spoonful takes the cumin, garlic and dried chilli for a tarka. It goes onto parathas, puris and rotis straight off the tawa, into halwa, ladoo and sheera, and into the onions at the start of a biryani.
