Ahmed Strawberry Jam is a bright red fruit spread from Ahmed Foods of Karachi, a Pakistani brand established in 1952. Each 100g of jam is prepared with 45g of strawberry pulp and 54g of sugar, set with pectin and sharpened with a little citric acid. It is sweet, glossy and easy to spread, coloured with Allura Red, and packed in a 450g glass jar with a twist-off lid. Find more breakfast spreads in our Jam collection.
How to use it
Spread on toast, rusks, parathas or scones, or layer it into a Victoria sponge with whipped cream. Use it in jam tarts, thumbprint biscuits and trifle, or stir a spoonful into porridge or plain yoghurt. It also makes a quick filling for pancakes and crepes, or a topping for plain cheesecake. The label uses one tablespoon (20g) as a serving.
