Aashirvaad Shudh Chakki Atta is ITC's classic whole wheat flour, ground the traditional chakki way so the bran and germ stay in the flour. The pack promises 100% atta and 0% maida, and the result is a fine, slightly creamy flour that makes soft rotis, parathas and puris with the familiar nutty wheat flavour. This 5kg export pack is the one to keep in the cupboard when you are rolling rotis every day.
How to use it
Measure about 100g of atta per two rotis, add a pinch of salt and work in warm water a little at a time until the dough comes together without sticking. Knead for five minutes, rub with a little oil, cover and rest for at least twenty minutes so the bran softens. Roll thin on a lightly floured board and cook on a hot tawa, turning once bubbles appear, then hold over a flame or press gently with a cloth so the roti puffs. For parathas, fold in ghee and cook a little slower.
