      About Munchee

Munchee is the main biscuit brand of Ceylon Biscuits Limited, part of the CBL group, one of the largest food manufacturers in Sri Lanka. Its biscuits have been part of Sri Lankan tea time for decades, and the packs we carry are made in Sri Lanka, many of them with a vegetarian or halal mark.

Munchee is the largest brand on our biscuits and cookies shelf. Marie, Tikiri Marie, chocolate Marie, ginger, Nice and milk short cake biscuits, along with the gift and family assortments, sit in sweet biscuits. Lemon Puff, Chocolate Puff, custard creams and chocolate creams are in cream biscuits. Cheese Buttons, onion biscuits, Snak Cracker and Super Cream Cracker are in crackers, Hawaiian and Carol cookies in cookies, and the cream wafers in wafers.

Super Cream Cracker is eaten at breakfast with butter and jam, or with a spoon of seeni sambol and a slice of cheese, and children dunk Tikiri Marie in milky tea. Marie biscuits are layered with chocolate and butter for the no-bake biscuit pudding served at birthdays, and Lemon Puff is the biscuit for an afternoon cup of Ceylon tea. The big tins and boxes are given as gifts and set out at Avurudu, Christmas, weddings and almsgivings.

Tins and cartons keep the crackers crisp; tip paper packs into an airtight jar once opened, particularly cream crackers, which soften fast. For tea to pour alongside, see Ceylon speciality tea, and for the rest of the morning table browse Sri Lankan breakfast essentials.
