TRS Rose Water is a clear, rose-flavoured water made in India, bottled in 190ml glass. TRS describe it as used primarily to enhance the taste of Indian sweets and desserts such as barfi and rasmalai, and note that it is also sometimes sprinkled at religious gatherings to give an aura of fragrance, which makes it a natural part of puja preparations at Navratri and Diwali.
How to use it
Add a teaspoon to the sugar syrup for gulab jamun or jalebi once it is off the heat. Stir a few drops into kheer, phirni, shrikhand or lassi just before serving. For a cooling summer or festive drink, mix a tablespoon with chilled milk, sugar and a few soaked sabja seeds. In biryani, a splash with saffron milk over the top layer adds a soft floral note. Use sparingly, as the aroma is strong.
