KTC Alphonso Mango Slices are firm slices of Alphonso mango packed in rich sugar syrup. Alphonso is the fragrant, deep yellow variety from western India, and tinned slices give you its flavour and colour all year round, with no peeling or stoning. The 850g tin is a product of India and suitable for vegetarians.
How to use it
Chill the tin, drain the slices and keep the syrup. Fan them over a bowl of shrikhand, rasmalai or vanilla ice cream, layer them into a trifle or fruit custard, or dice them into a festive fruit chaat with a squeeze of lime. For a quick mango milkshake, blend a few slices with cold milk and a spoonful of the syrup. The syrup itself sweetens lassi, mocktails and sponge cakes. Once opened, store leftovers covered in a non-metallic dish in the fridge and use within two days.
