Fudco Golden Sultanas are South African sultanas dried to a pale golden colour and kept bright with sulphur dioxide, then lightly coated in sunflower oil so they stay loose in the bag. They are soft, juicy and sweet, and the 800g bag is the size for kitchens that use sultanas through the festive season in kheer, pulao, halwa and Christmas baking alike.
How to use it
Fry a handful of sultanas in hot ghee for a few seconds until they puff, then lift them out with cashews to finish sheera, gajar halwa, sevaiyan and vegetable pulao. Stir them into rice kheer and payasam for the last five minutes of cooking. They also go into fruit cake, scones and flapjacks, and into Diwali dry fruit trays with nuts and dates.
