TRS Whole Jeera are whole cumin seeds in a 1kg bag, packed in India. TRS describe whole jeera as having a strong, aromatic, lingering flavour that features in most Indian savoury mixtures and curry seasonings, and as an important ingredient of garam masala. How to use it
Start dals, sabzis and jeera rice by letting a teaspoon of cumin sizzle in hot ghee until it darkens and smells nutty. For garam masala, dry roast cumin with coriander, black pepper, cloves, cinnamon and cardamom, cool and grind. On Navratri fasting days, cumin seasons vrat aloo, sabudana khichdi, kuttu puris and samo rice with sendha namak. Toast and grind a batch of jeera powder for raita, chaas and chaat through Diwali.
