Sliced carrots in water, 160g drained from a 300g tin, with carrots, water and a little vitamin C on the label and nothing else. They are already cooked, so they go into a pulao, a mixed vegetable curry or a soup in the last few minutes, and half a tin counts as one of your five a day. Jack’s is the Tesco family value label, which is why this is the cheapest tin on the shelf.
How to use it
Drain, then heat for about two minutes in the microwave or gently in a pan. Stir them into a mixed vegetable curry, a keema or a pulao at the end so they warm through without going soft. Cold, they go into a salad or a chaat.
