Naturbal Honeycomb Syrup is a tall glass jar with a long strip of real honeycomb suspended in a golden fructose-glucose syrup with honey. Made in Hungary by Aranynektár, it is sold as a bread spread: the comb makes up 10% and honey a further 9%, with the rest syrup. It looks striking on a breakfast table, which also makes it a popular choice for a Diwali hamper or a host gift. The jar holds 600g.
How to use it
Lift out a piece of comb and spread it on warm toast or a buttered paratha, where the wax softens and the cells release their honey. Spoon the syrup over yoghurt, pancakes or porridge, or use a little to sweeten a bowl of fruit and curd. A small square of comb on a cheese board or a dessert platter of kheer and sweets adds texture and a talking point.
