Naturbal Honey Syrup is a bread spread from Aranynektár in Hungary, made from fructose-glucose syrup blended with 10% honey. It is not pure honey: the syrup gives a clear, golden, runny spread with a mild honey flavour at an easy price, which suits families who get through a lot of something sweet on toast and pancakes. The tall 600g glass jar comes with a gold screw lid.
How to use it
Spread it on toast, crumpets or parathas, pour it over pancakes and waffles, or stir it into porridge and warm milk. It is handy in the kitchen too: drizzle it over a fruit chaat, use it to bind a quick dry fruit and nut mix, or brush it over roasted makhana with a pinch of cardamom for a sweet festive snack. Because it is mostly syrup, it stays runny and pours easily straight from the jar.
