Fudco Pink Peanuts are raw shelled peanuts with the pink papery skin still on, grown in China and packed in the UK. The 300g bag is a handy size for a household that uses peanuts a few times a week, whether for a quick chutney, a batch of chikki or a fasting-day breakfast.
How to use it
Roast the peanuts in a dry pan on a low heat for eight to ten minutes until they smell nutty and the skins split. Rub off the skins if you like, then pulse coarsely for sabudana khichdi or vada, the classic Navratri pairing, or blend with green chilli, cumin, lemon and rock salt for a vrat chutney. For a quick sweet, fold roasted peanuts into melted jaggery with a pinch of cardamom, spread on a greased tray and cut into squares as it sets.
