Soghaat Kesar Mango Pulp is sweetened pulp from the Kesar mango of Gujarat, named for its saffron-orange flesh and known for a fragrant, honey-sweet flavour. The tin holds 92% Kesar mango pulp with 5% sugar, water and citric acid, so the fruit is the star. This 850g ring-pull tin is packed in India and imported by Nuovo Foods in West Bromwich.
How to use it
Kesar pulp is the classic choice for Gujarati aamras: chill it, stir in a pinch of dry ginger powder or cardamom, and serve with hot puris and dhokla. For Navratri and Diwali desserts, fold it through hung curd for aamrakhand, set it into mango kulfi or mousse, or swirl it into rice kheer at the end. It also makes a quick lassi with yoghurt and milk. Once opened, store any leftover pulp covered in the fridge and use within a few days.
