Soghaat Alphonso Mango Pulp is sweetened pulp from the Alphonso, the saffron-coloured Indian mango prized for its fragrance and silky texture. Each tin is 92% Alphonso mango with just 5% added sugar, water and a little citric acid, so the fruit flavour comes through clearly. This 850g ring-pull tin is packed in India and imported by Nuovo Foods in West Bromwich.
How to use it
Chill the tin, then serve the pulp as aamras with hot puris, a favourite on festive menus and after Navratri. For mango lassi, blend one cup of pulp with two cups of yoghurt, a little milk and a pinch of cardamom. The pulp also sets well in mango kulfi, phirni and shrikhand, swirls into kheer, and gives cheesecakes and sponges a bright Alphonso finish. Once opened, keep any leftover pulp covered in the fridge and use it within a few days.
