Laziza Sheer Khurma Mix Saffron is a dessert mix of fine vermicelli, dried dates, almonds, pistachio, coconut, cardamom and saffron. Sheer khurma means milk with dates, and this rich, fragrant vermicelli pudding is a festive favourite across Pakistan and North India. One 160g box serves six to eight.
How to use it
The box gives two methods. For the quick one, add the packet to one litre of boiling milk, cook for 10 minutes, stirring at intervals, and serve hot or cold, cooking 5 minutes more if you like it thick. For a deeper flavour, fry the mix in a tablespoon of ghee or butter for 20 to 30 seconds, pour in one litre of milk and cook for 8 to 10 minutes after it boils. Serve it warm at Diwali or Eid with extra chopped nuts on top.
