KTC Kewra Water is a clear flavouring water described on the label as pure and natural essence of kewra, the fragrant screw pine flower. Kewra has a sweet, floral scent that sits somewhere between rose and pandan, and a few drops are all it takes to give biryani and Indian sweets their classic festive aroma. It comes in a 190ml glass bottle.
How to use it
Sprinkle a teaspoon over the top layer of a dum biryani or pulao just before sealing the pot. Add a few drops to the sugar syrup for gulab jamun, jalebi or rasgulla, to rasmalai milk, or to rice kheer and phirni once they have come off the heat. It also lifts lassi, shahi tukda and coconut barfi for Diwali. Use it sparingly, as the flavour builds quickly, and keep the cap tightly closed.
