Fudco Sugar Candy Sakar is crystallised sugar candy in larger, chunkier pieces than standard mishri crystals. Sakar is a familiar offering at temples and home shrines, and the bigger lumps are easy to place on a thali or share out one piece at a time as prasad.
How to use it
Offer a few pieces as bhog during Navratri puja and at Dussehra and Diwali, then share them as prasad after aarti. Crush lightly in a mortar and mix with dried coconut, makhana, almonds and raisins for a festive prasad mix. After meals, serve a piece with fennel seeds as a mouth freshener. The lumps also dissolve slowly in warm milk, tea or herbal infusions for a mild sweetness.
