Fudco Full Cream Milk Powder is whole milk powder from France, packed for Fudco in a 300g bag. The front of the pack recommends it for barfi, penda, gulab jamun and other Indian sweets, and that is where it earns its place: milk powder gives the dense, milky richness of khoya in a fraction of the time, which matters when the festive sweet list is long.
How to use it
For quick milk peda, melt two tablespoons of ghee in a non-stick pan, add half a tin of condensed milk and 150g of milk powder and stir on a low heat for eight to ten minutes until the mixture forms a soft dough. Add cardamom, cool slightly and shape into small discs. For gulab jamun, mix milk powder with a little flour, baking powder, ghee and milk into a soft dough before frying and soaking in syrup.
