TRS Black Pepper Whole is a 100g bag of whole black peppercorns, packed in India. TRS say these peppercorns can be used in all Indian recipes for rice, curries and vegetables, and for pickling. Whole pepper keeps its aroma far longer than ground, so a small bag is the simplest way to have fresh pepper on hand.
How to use it
Crack a few peppercorns into hot ghee with cumin, cloves and bay leaf as the first step of a pulao or khichdi. For ven pongal, fry whole pepper and cumin in ghee with curry leaves and cashews and pour over the rice and moong dal, a favourite offering during Navratri and Pongal. Grind freshly in a mortar for rasam powder or garam masala, or drop a spoonful into the brine of a mango or lime pickle.
