TRS Alphonso Mango Pulp is made from Alphonso mangoes, the fragrant, saffron-coloured variety India is famous for, lightly sweetened with 5% sugar. Mango makes up 95% of the tin, so the pulp is thick and smooth with the deep, honeyed flavour of ripe fruit. It is produced in India and packed in an 850g ring-pull can, ready whenever the season is not.
How to use it
For mango lassi, blend one part pulp with one part plain yoghurt and a splash of cold milk, then add cardamom or a pinch of saffron. For aamras, chill the pulp, stir in a little ground cardamom and serve with hot puris. During Navratri it folds into hung curd for amrakhand, and for Diwali it goes into mango kulfi, mango barfi with milk powder and coconut, or a quick mango kesari.
