Samayal Jaggery Gold Powder is golden cane jaggery ground to a fine, free-flowing powder. It is made only from sugar cane juice, boiled and dried, so it keeps the soft caramel flavour of gur without the work of grating a block. The 1kg bag is a product of India, packed for Haran Foods, and it measures straight from the spoon like sugar.
How to use it
Use it spoon for spoon wherever a recipe calls for grated jaggery. Stir it into hot payasam, makhana kheer or sabudana kheer at the end of cooking, off the heat, so the milk does not split. Mix it with roasted besan or wheat flour and ghee for ladoo, sprinkle it over hot rotis with ghee, or dissolve it in warm water for panakam and gur sharbat. It sweetens masala chai and porridge, and it bakes well in cakes and cookies in place of brown sugar.
