TRS Rice Flour 1.5kg

TRS Rice Flour is white rice milled to a fine, silky powder, finer than ground rice and ready to mix straight into batters and doughs. It is the everyday flour for murukku, appam, kozhukattai and crisp dosa blends, and a reliable way to lighten pakora batter or coat fish before frying.

How to use it

For murukku, mix two cups of rice flour with half a cup of urad dal flour, a spoonful of butter, sesame seeds, chilli powder and salt, add water to a smooth dough and press through a murukku mould into hot oil until golden. For kozhukattai, pour boiling salted water over the flour with a teaspoon of oil, stir, knead while warm and shape around a coconut and jaggery filling before steaming. A tablespoon in pakora or bhajia batter gives a crisper finish, and the same flour thickens kheer and makes soft rice flour roti.
