RUS C Roasted Rice Flour 2kg

The 2kg pack of RUS C Roasted Rice Flour, for families who make string hoppers and pittu every week. The rice is soaked, pounded by hand and roasted before packing, which gives a soft, fine flour with a gentle toasted aroma that steams into tender idiyappam.

How to use it

Scald the flour with boiling salted water, stirring with a wooden spoon, then knead to a smooth, soft dough while it is still warm. Press through an idiyappam mould onto steaming trays and steam until set. For pittu, moisten the flour with warm water and fresh coconut and steam in a pittu bamboo. Leftover dough rolls into kozhukattai with a sweet coconut and jaggery filling. Cook the flour before eating.
