Prince Foods Creamy Sella Basmati Rice 1kg

Sella basmati is parboiled in the husk before milling, which drives nutrients into the grain and firms it up, so it cooks into long, separate grains that never turn sticky. Prince Foods' creamy sella is the lighter, cream coloured style of parboiled basmati, a favourite for biryani, pilau and catering pots that need to hold their shape.

How to use it

Rinse the rice two or three times and soak it for 30 minutes. For plain rice, boil it in plenty of salted water for 12 to 14 minutes until tender, then drain and rest with the lid on. For biryani, par boil for about eight minutes before layering with the meat or vegetable masala, then seal and cook on dum. Sella takes a minute or two longer than regular basmati and forgives a little extra time on the heat.
