Shama Chakki Gold Atta is 100% whole wheat flour, stone ground the chakki way so it keeps the bran and the slightly coarse texture that makes chapatis soft and full of flavour. It is a source of fibre and iron, and a good everyday atta for rotis, parathas and puris.
How to use it
Add warm water to the atta a little at a time with a pinch of salt and knead to a soft, pliable dough. Cover and rest for fifteen minutes. Roll small balls into thin rounds, cook on a hot tawa until brown spots appear, then puff over the flame or press with a cloth. Brush with ghee and keep wrapped so they stay soft. For parathas, fold in ghee and roll into layers; for puris, make a slightly stiffer dough and fry.
