Shama Jasmine Rice is AAA grade Thai hom mali rice, the long grain fragrant rice of Thailand. It cooks soft and slightly sticky, with a gentle floral aroma, and it is the rice to serve with Thai green and red curries, stir fries, Chinese dishes and any meal where you want grains that cling together lightly.
How to use it
Rinse the rice once or twice in cold water. Put one cup of rice in a pan with one and a quarter to one and a half cups of water, bring it to the boil, then cover and reduce to a gentle simmer for 15 minutes. Turn off the heat and leave covered for ten more minutes before fluffing with a fork. It also works well in a rice cooker and makes excellent fried rice the next day.
